As a Cancerian I have felt the influence of the Full Moon present in my life ever since I was a kid. By falling down and standing up again I’ve learned over the years to recognise her influence and come in tune with it. Now I’m using the energy of the Full Moon to create a time map that can be used as a directive that creates a support in guiding you through the year. I think it is just wonderful to notice how the Full Moon can shine a different light on any given situation. This light being far more a sensitive, intuïtive and feminine one. A light that doesn’t blind, but highlights what normally prefers to lay dormant in the shadow of our excistence. Being that tremendously interesting talents and qualities, or maybe itches and aches you’re not so proud off.
Using the specific energies of every Full Moon, is a way to go on a path of selfdiscovery and -development. A path that will certainly make you look back at the end of year, realizing you didn’t think of coming this far just by using Full Moon energy as a new beacon of light. You’ll be surprised!

Acquiring wisdom is one of life’s major goals, specially acquiring inner wisdom. This month the energy of the Full Moon is asking you to turn this wisdom into practical use by applying it to gain insight in your personal lifecycle, connecting back to past events and repetitive patterns. Can you see which patterns you operate on? Are you able to recognize the issues in your life you have a hard time dealing with? Although the sun is in Leo inviting you to dance, be merry and enjoy your holidays in an outward, expanding movement, it is also the time of year to step back from the ordinary day-to-day life and relax your mind and body. Perfect time to sit at the beach, enjoy a nice cocktail and let your mind drift off to faraway places and past memories. Now here’s the trick: by adding some Aquarian Moon energy you can direct your mind a bit towards learning opportunities, for instance in situations in which you felt awkward. Or situations that, in hindsight, you regret or still feel hurt or angry about. It is the wise man or woman in you that enables you to look at these situations in an objective way. Recognise your personal emotion but don’t connect with it. Recognise the other persons emotions, don’t connect with that either. Don’t judge. Just observe. Can you recognise this set up in other situations as well? How could you’ve created a different outcome from this situation? What is it you could’ve done different that would have lead to a more satisfying outcome? Can you see yourself repeating similar behaviour in similar situations? Being willing to look at patterns of behaviour or patterns of thinking that repeat themselves is the way to gain insight in your personal lifecycle and grow your personal wisdom.
In most of these situations probably the common denominator is fear. Fear often makes us act like fools just to avoid the situation or emotion we are so fearful about, touching us at our deepest level. Personally I fear being left by my lover, so to avoid that I rather leave him first or scare him away. I know, fear can set us up doing foolish things. To avoid being looked at as a weirdo or being rejected for your freakiness however, you also often stop being true to yourself. One might think you’re nuts by doing what you really want to do, or speaking your personal truth.
Here you need true insight and wisdom to distinct one fear from the other.
So on one hand the energy of this Full Moon invites you to become knowledgeable about behaviour and thinking that repeats itself and is not in anyway beneficial. On the other hand you can use this month’s Full Moon to gain insight on your fear for being rejected that has you playing a role to be accepted and receive approval.
- Repetition is what you can recognise in different situations that all, in which way ever, have a negative outcome for you. Pinpoint the detail, the emotion, the word that triggered you. Be frank about it and admit the basic default setting that comes with it in your mind. See the repetitive pattern and what comes from it.
- Next see which approach, which response or reaction could have created a different outcome. Imagine yourself trying something new and think the situation through again, trying this new approach, response or reaction. Think different. Think out of your comfort box. Don’t be your own worst enemy by stucking to the familiar. Be creative. Dare to be and act different then usual and surprise yourself. And others with it.
- Knowing and recognising yourself in these repetitive patterns leads to wisdom. Now you know how to respond different to difficult or emotionally threatening situations. Now you know what to do to create a desired outcome. Next step is to put this knowing into use everytime it is required.
- Last but not least I invite you to also gain insight and acknowledge the weirdo in yourself. Which part of you likes to think, act or feel out of the box of ordinariness hence risking rejection and disapproval? Which part of you is so authentically you, that you are afraid of becoming an outsider to the social structure you’re part of? Think of this part as being the creative you that holds the key to your future vision, to the awesome genius that resides in you. This insight together with the former mentioned knowledge creates true wisdom on a personal level. Don’t let your fear stop you being wise!
